What Bookmarks is

Bookmarks is your start page: a place that's all yours to keep the sites you use most, organized by categories, with nice icons that are easy to find. On the same screen you also get a clock, weather, your day's calendar and a to-do list. The idea is to open your browser and have everything one click away.

Create an account and sign in

  1. Open the home page and click “Start free” (or “Sign in” if you already have an account).
  2. Enter your email and create a password.
  3. Done: you go straight to your home screen, where your sites live. You can also sign in with your Google account.
💡
Tip: Want Bookmarks to open every time you start your browser? See the section Frequently asked questions.

Getting to know the home screen

This is your main screen. Here's what each part is:

Bookmarks home screen with the search bar, side category menu, sites and the day panel
The Bookmarks home screen.
  • Search bar (top, center): search the web or type a site's address to open it.
  • Side menu (on the left): your categories. Click one to see only its sites. “Home” shows your pinned sites, “All” shows everything.
  • Sites and categories (in the center): your shortcuts. Categories appear as folders — click to open.
  • Day panel (on the right): clock, weather, calendar and tasks.
  • Top icons (top-right corner): 🛍️ Store (themes and resources), ⚙️ gear (Customize the look), ? (help) and the language picker (flag) — next to the circle with your initial.
💡
Tip: Bookmarks speaks 8 languages. Click the flag at the top to switch between Português, English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, 日本語 and 한국어. The first time, the language is chosen automatically based on your browser.

Search and open sites

The top bar works like your browser's address bar:

  1. Click the “Search the web or type a site…” bar (when you open Bookmarks, the cursor is already there).
  2. Type a site's address (e.g. github.com) and press Enter to open it.
  3. Or type what you want to search for and press Enter — the search opens as usual.
💡
Tip: To find a site you've already saved, use the “Filter bookmarks…” field in the side menu.

Add a site

  1. Click “+ Add site” (above your shortcuts).
  2. Fill in the Name and Link (address) of the site.
  3. Choose a Category (optional). Want a new one? Pick “+ Create category…” right there and type the name.
  4. If you want it featured, check Pin to Home.
  5. Click Add. The site's icon is fetched automatically.

Categories and folders

Categories are like folders for organizing your sites (e.g. Work, Study, Fun).

  1. Create: in the side menu, type the name in the “+ New category” field and press Enter. (You can also create one while adding a site.)
  2. Open as a folder: on the home screen, categories appear as little folders (phone style). Click one to see its sites in a window.
  3. Share or delete: hover over the category in the side menu and use the icons that appear (🔗 share, × delete).
💡
Tip: When you delete a category, its sites aren't removed — they move to “Uncategorized”.

Organize your sites

  • Reorder: drag a shortcut and drop it wherever you want.
  • Drag from outside: drag a bookmark from your browser's bar and drop it onto the Bookmarks screen. If you drop it inside a category, it goes right in.
  • Select several: click “☑ Select”, check the sites and use the bottom bar to move them to a category, pin or delete them all at once.
  • Edit a site: hover over it and click ⋯ → Edit (you can change the icon too).
⚠️
Heads up: Dragging an entire folder from the bookmarks bar doesn't work — browsers don't hand the folder's contents to the page. To bring in folders with everything inside, use Import (below).

Import your browser bookmarks

Already have lots of bookmarks in your browser? Bring them all at once — and folders become categories automatically.

Step 1 — Export from your browser

  1. In Chrome/Edge: ⋮ menu → Bookmarks → Bookmark manager.
  2. In the manager, click ⋮ → Export bookmarks. This saves a .html file.

Step 2 — Import into Bookmarks

  1. Click “↧ Import”.
  2. Select the .html file you exported.
  3. Done! Each browser folder becomes a category and the sites go into them.

Customize the look

Click the ⚙️ gear icon (top-right corner) to make everything your own. The panel has three tabs: Appearance, Home and Widgets.

The Customize panel: themes, background, icon size and more.
  • Theme: choose between light, dark or one of the ready-made themes.
  • Background: several backgrounds (some animated) or upload your own image.
  • Icon size and columns: make your shortcuts bigger or smaller.
  • Home tab: choose what appears on the screen — “Most visited”, “Pinned sites” and which categories become folders. You can also reorder the sections (move up/down) and adjust the icon grid here.
  • Widgets tab: turn the day-panel widgets on and off (clock, calendar, tasks, note and focus).

Widgets (clock, calendar, tasks…)

The right-hand panel gives you handy tools for everyday use. Turn them on or off in Customize → Widgets:

  • Clock & weather: time, date and your city's temperature.
  • Calendar: your appointments by day, week or month.
  • Tasks: a simple to-do list. Click the circle to complete an item and double-click a task to edit its text.
  • Quick note and Focus (timer): a notepad and a pomodoro-style timer.

Resource store

In the 🛍️ Store (top-right corner) you'll find new themes to make Bookmarks even more your own.

  4. Public link (read-only) Turn on Public collection to generate an open address, perfect for sharing — and for appearing on the Community tab.
💡
Tip: People who can edit add and organize sites in the category; people who can view only see it.

Export and backup

💡
Tip: HTML is the same format your browser uses — open it or re-import it wherever you like.

Your account and profile

  1. Click the circle with your initial (top-right corner) → My profile.
  2. There you can change your name, photo and time zone.
  3. To leave, use the Sign out button.

Frequently asked questions

How do I set Bookmarks as my home page?

In your browser's settings, under “Home page” or “On startup”, paste the Bookmarks address. There's also a reminder with the step-by-step inside the app.

Do my sites disappear if I switch computers?

No. Everything is saved to your account — just sign in with the same email anywhere.

I forgot my password. Now what?

On the sign-in screen, click “Forgot my password” and follow the instructions sent to your email.

I bought a theme and want my money back.

No problem. Payments are processed by Stripe; a refund returns the amount and the theme becomes locked again.
